RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Some central Kentucky residents are still cleaning up after this week's ice storm.
In Madison county, a large oak tree fell on top of a home Tuesday, causing minor damage.
The Richmond Fire Department says the weight of ice on the tree is what caused it to fall during the night. No one was home at the time, but the tree did damage a window.
Neighbors heard the tree fall and called for help.
"I was up in my room and heard a big loud boom," says Matt Humes. "There was a tree on their house. I called police and fire to come out and check it out to see if anyone was there."
As of Friday afternoon, the tree had not yet been removed from the house.
