Injury accident shuts down part of I-64 in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Both lanes of I-64 westbound are now clear after an injury accident left them closed for over an hour Saturday morning.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department tells us the accident happend on I-64 westbound at mile marker 45.5.

The accident which involved two passenger cars happend around 8am Saturday morning.

One vehicle was overturned and the other vehicle ended on the guardrail.

Two people have were transported to University of Louisville Hospital by ambulance and one was flown to U of L by helicopter.

No conditions are available at this time but officials say they do not believe any of the injuries to be life threatening.
