Injury accidents clog Lexington morning commute

Updated: Mon 2:07 PM, Dec 17, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A truck flipped over onto it's top was one of several accidents that had New Circle snarled up this morning for commuters.

"Speed and just a little bit of wet pavement," said Officer Stephen Yoder with Lexinton Police.

That's what police say they believe caused this accident.
A driver following behind the two women in this truck told police it appeared the back tires lost traction causing them to lose control and hit the guardrail.

"Every time it rains we just, you know it's coming at some point. There's no stopping it. Everybody is in a rush to get to work, and unfortunately they didn't get to work today, the gentleman who witnessed the collision didn't get to work on time either. And it just snarled up traffic for thousands and thousands of people," said Yoder.

One woman had to be cut loose by Lexington firefighters and both were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The accident blocked the ramp for more than an hour.
