Interstate 65 sees multiple crashes due to weather

Posted: Fri 8:21 AM, Jan 25, 2013

ELIZABETHTOWN, (WKYT) - A 10-vehicle pileup, and an accident involving a bus, are just some of the crashes causing major backups on I-65 South, just south of Elizabethtown.

About half of the vehicles involved in the 10-vehicle accident are reportedly semis.

We're told the roadway is covered in a sheet of ice, and the southbound lanes are completely shut down due to the accident.

A Louisville television station reports a little further south in Hart County, around mile marker 55, there is an accident involving a bus.

This crash has the northbound lanes shut down.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution and avoid these areas if possible.
