MAKHACHKALA, Russia (AP) - Investigators gathering evidence in the Boston Marathon bombing attack are focusing on the trip to a volatile part of Russia that suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev made last year.

Tsarnaev's parents in Russia insist that the visit to Dagestan and Chechnya had nothing to do with militants operating there.

Tsarnaev was killed Friday while trying to get away from police.

His younger brother Dzhokhar is in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck.
