One of the world's best known jewelry makers is planning to build a new facility in Lexington.
State and city leaders joined officials with Tiffany & Co. Wednesday to break ground on the jewelry manufacturing facility, which will be built on Innovation Drive in the Blue Grass Business Park.
Officials say the new facility will create 125 jobs. It's expected to be finished next spring.
"Kentucky is proud to welcome a globally iconic company such as Tiffany & Co., a company whose name symbolizes style, quality and luxury to millions around the world," said Gov. Steve Beshear in a news release. "Lexington's rich heritage, steeped in tradition and sophistication, is the perfect match for the Tiffany brand. I am confident Tiffany & Co. will flourish in the Bluegrass and we will continue to partner with them every step of the way."
Tiffany & Co. has stores around the world, and also offers jewelry sales online, through catalogs and through business gift operations.
