Joker getting calls, final home game Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Joker Phillips said Monday he's getting calls, he hasn't had a chance to answer all of them but he will. Phillips was fired last week as coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. His final game in Commonwealth Stadium will be Saturday, against Samford on Senior Night.

As Phillips said last week, he said again Monday, "I had my Senior Night." He went on to say he didn't need any special treatment. Phillips added it was way too soon to think about his future.

Freshman wide receiver DeMarcus Sweat, out of Lithonia, Georgia, is now off the depth-chart. Phillips said he was looking at pulling Sweat so he could concentrate on academics.

Samford will bring a 6-3 record ihnto Lexington Saturday night. The Bulldogs are coached by Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan. Their three losses are to Georgia Southern, Applalachian State, and Chattanooga. Kickoff will be at 7:30pm, the game televised by Comcast Sports Southeast.
