Joy Cart brings Christmas to Children's Hospital

Updated: Tue 11:56 PM, Dec 04, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Christmas came a little early for some patients at Kentucky Children's Hospital.

The annual Jarrett's Joy Cart Holiday Store rolled through the hospital Tuesday night.

It lets patients shop for everyone on their Christmas list without having to pay a dime.

Volunteers help the children pick out gifts, then wrap them, so they can give them to family members.

Young cancer patient Jarrett Mynear started the Joy Cart in 1999. His mother says it helps families who might not have a Christmas otherwise.

The store has provided gifts for more than 500 families over the past 12 years.
