Julius Randle will play for UK next season

LEXINGTON, Ky. - (WKYT) Julius Randle, at 6-foot-9, and ranked as the top power forward in the country, will play his college basketball at UK. The senior from Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, TX, announced his decision at his high school just after 1pm. Randle had been the subject of one of the nation’s most intense recruiting battles after cutting his final list down to Kentucky, Kansas, Florida and Texas. He’s rated by most as the No. 2 ranked high school prospect in the nation. A foot injury cost Randle much of his senior season, but he returned to lead his team to state championship and will play in the McDonald’s All-American game in April. He is a “physical” 6-9 and those who have been involved with him rave about his work ethic, an attribute that has become even more important to John Calipari after the effort and results he got from this years UK squad. Much more throughout the day on wkyt.com and beginning on WKYT at 4.
