LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After 52 years K-Lair Grill, a UK tradition, will be closing its doors on Friday.
When UK announced its plans to build a new residence hall complex, it was only a matter of time before K-Lair would become a casualty in the name of progress.
The lines have been long as students past and present make their way to enjoy one last meal at K-Lair.
K-Lair’s famous honey-buns will be handed out for free to customers on its final day, while they last.
Diners are leaving their farewell thoughts on the walls of the building, where the memories will remain even after the demolition crews come in.
K-Lair opened on campus in 1961.
