KSU reaching out to Frankfort community

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State University is reaching out to the rest of the Frankfort community.

The school is kicking off its community outreach efforts with an event Monday at KSU's Welcome Center in the Academic Service Building.

The public is invited to attend the campus event, which starts at 2 p.m. EDT and will feature KSU staff and administrators along with community leaders.

KSU President Mary Evans Sias says KSU is Frankfort's university, and it's important to let the community know what the school has to offer.

As part of the initiative, the university will participate in Frankfort events year round, including the Capital Expo Festival in early June.

At those events, KSU will provide information about scholarships, dual enrollment, continuing and distance learning and other programs.
