LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The final results are in.
The Second Annual Kentucky Gives Day, a 24-hour online giving event to benefit participating Kentucky nonprofits, raised a little over $110,000 more than last year for a grand total of $440,424. The donations came from over 3200 donors and went to 308 nonprofit organizations throughout the state.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the way Kentuckians responded to the second Kentucky Gives Day,” said Danielle Clore, executive director of Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc., which coordinated the event. “The generosity of Kentuckians, near and far, was amazing — showing tremendous pride in their Kentucky home.”
More than 400 nonprofits participated in the event. They represented the arts, the environment, health, children, animal welfare, humanitarian aid and a host of other causes.
