Kentucky State Police ask drivers to watch for stranded motorists

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police are cautioning drivers across the state about the impending winter storm and asking them to observe for potentially stranded motorists.

A mix of ice and snow is expected to make traveling conditions difficult in all areas.

State Police are asking citizens to refrain from contacting local posts about road conditions and are asking them to instead call 1-866-737-3767 (#511 from cellular phone) or use www.511.ky.gov.

State Police are requesting travelers to observe for stranded motorists when out driving.

If you see or suspect someone is stranded you are asked to call 911 or contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555.

State Police will post road closures and weather-related incidents that impact traffic flow on their Facebook and Twitter pages over the next 24 hours.
