FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Business, education and government leaders are joining forces in Kentucky to create a foundation that will support innovative new approaches to teaching.
The Fund for Transforming Education in Kentucky, headed by Paducah businessman Billy Harper, will work with the Kentucky Department of Education to provide resources for teachers, schools and school districts.
The foundation will raise money to help support innovate schools.
The initiative is being unveiled Monday at 11 a.m. EDT at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce's Frankfort headquarters.
Harper will be joined by Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson and Kentucky Education Commissioner Terry Holliday to provide more details about the foundation.
