Death of Ky. man in Georgia investigated as homicide

Updated: Tue 7:35 PM, Jan 08, 2013

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Authorities in Georgia are trying to piece together exactly what happened to 32-year-old Keith Ratliff last Thursday night. Meanwhile, Ratliff's wife, Amanda, is trying to explain to her son why his father won't be coming home.

"What really hurts is that we have a son together, it is so heartbreaking," says Ratliff, whose husband was found shot to death at his Georgia based gun business Thursday night.

Officials found Ratliff's body on Thursday and although they are being tight lipped about a lot of the details, they do believe his body had been there for quite some time.

"They said he had been shot," says Amanda Ratliff, "all they would say it was in his upper body."

Ratliff's brother, Kelly, told WKYT his brother moved from Frankfort to Georgia two years ago. Some of his videos were popular on a YouTube channell, called FSPRussia.

"He moved there for work," explains Kelly, "my brother loved life, there is no way he'd take his own life."

Police haven't said whether his death was murder, or something else. However, the Atlanta Journal of Constitution is reporting Ratliff's death is being investigated as a murder.

We're told by family that Ratliff was found dead in his office in Carnesville, Ga.

"For him not to pull out that gun and try to defend himself, that's not my brother," explains Kelly.

"He had such a good life to live and things to look forward to," says Amanda Ratliff.

Keith's family says they need justice and won't stop till they get it.

We attempted to contact investigators in Georgia but our calls have not been returned. At this time, Franklin County officials are not involved in the investigation.

Funeral arrangements for Ratliff are being handled through Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
