Kentucky soldier receives award

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Sergeant Dallas Robinson, a member of the World Class Athlete Program, is being honored for his achievements.

Robinson received an award for his success as an army athlete.

He earned silver and bronze medals in bobsledding at the 2013 World Cup circuit, landing himself a position on the 2014 US Olympic team.

"This is my first major award in my military service and I really really hope that I'll get to serve our state through the Kentucky National Guard and obviously our country in a greater magnitude than just on the Olympic stage," Robinson says.

Robinson is originally from Georgetown and attended Eastern Kentucky University.
