A Flash Flood Warning is now in effect for much of the Lexington metro. High water issues are likely through the evening.
A Kentucky family is dealing with a tragedy, after a drowning in Tennessee.
The victim has been identified as Doug Poole from Lexington, and originally from Winchester.
Officials say Poole was swimming behind a boat on Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN, when he began having trouble. Crews spent several hours to find his body.
Poole worked at the post office in Beaumont Center. Co-workers say it was tough coming in Monday with out him there.
They say Doug's hard work ethic went well beyond his time on the clock at work.
The news came as surprise to fellow employees at the Beaumont Center post office, and even others around Lexington.
"Most of the Lexington post offices knew Doug," says Beaumont branch supervisor Ron Morgan.
Workers at the post office say Poole was on the lake with a friend from work. They say Poole was a dedicated worker with the postal service for more than 10 years.
"He's always here and always had a great attitude," Morgan says, "he's an outstanding employee and a great person to be around."
Co-workers say Doug was an avid bike-rider, mowed lawns on the side, and was involved with military missions, where he would work off the clock to send packages and boxes overseas to our troops.
"He would take it upon himself to go get them, mail them out on his own time, and help them out," Morgan says.
He says Poole's care for others and his sense of humor set him apart from the rest.
"Doug's just a really nice guy, and he's a hard worker."
Fellow employees placed flowers on his work area in the mail room. They say he's a friendly face that will be missed by all
"He made the day easier for everybody," says Morgan.
Doug Poole worked at the Beaumont Center branch for four years.
