Kentucky's bourbon inventory tops 5 million barrels

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It's a milestone you could raise your glass to. The Kentucky Distillers' Association says the state's bourbon inventory has topped five million barrels for the first time since 1977. The association says Kentucky distilleries also filled 1.2 million barrels last year, which was the most since 1970. We're told the bourbon boom is the result of distillers creating jobs and attracting record numbers of tourists.
