Kentucky's food heritage celebrated in Berea

BEREA, Ky. (WKYT) - Governor Beshear and other state leaders gathered in Berea on Wednesday to celebrate eastern Kentucky's food heritage.

The Appalachian Regional Commission's new "Bon Appetit Appalachia" map-guide features 47 Kentucky food destinations.

They range from farmer's markets to wineries.

The Governor says these businesses benefit the entire region.

"And that's going to bring tourists in. They're going to spend their dollars. Not only are these 47 different establishments going to flourish, but that money will trickle out into the rest of the economy and create jobs for more people," Governor Beshear says.
