KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Knox County couple answered to charges in connection to a murder case Friday.
A Judge sentenced Jesse Jaynes to 10-years behind bars. Jaynes pleaded guilty to Manslaughter charges in April.
His wife, Angela Jaynes entered an unexpected guilty plea. Police say the couple shot and killed James Cox in December of 2012.
The victim's sister was also in court Friday. She says the proceedings provided relief for her family.
"I think it's going to give both families closure, I think it's going to let both families start to heal finally and I think that's what we've both been aiming for this whole time," said Penny Mills.
The Commonwealth recommended a 20-year sentence for Angela. Her sentencing is set for July 25th.
