LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - For the second time this year, courthouses across Kentucky will be closed.
A furlough day is scheduled for Tuesday for all local and state court employees. The judicial branch says the closures will help them make up $25 million in budget cuts.
Tuesday's furlough impacts more than just court employees. It also means driver licenses will not be issued Tuesday and trials and court precedings will be rescheduled. But most county offices located inside courthouses will not be impacted.
Another furlough day is scheduled for October 15.
