FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Supreme Court has permanently disbarred a longtime attorney after he pleaded guilty to theft of between $500 and $10,000 in client funds.
The high court's decision on Thursday means Wayne W. Fitzgerald of Cynthiana, who was first admitted to practice law in 1950, can no longer represent clients in Kentucky.
The court found that Fitzgerald's admission to converting a disabled client's Social Security benefits for his own use renders the attorney unfit to practice law. Fitzgerald pleaded guilty in Harrison Circuit Court in June.
