Ky. lawmaker proposes bill to allow alcohol on boats

A Kentucky Lawmaker filed a bill Thursday, he says, will allow people to have a little more fun on the water.

Right now, it's illegal in Kentucky for anyone on a boat to consume alcohol while out on a river or lake. But Democratic Senator Perry Clark, of Louisville, wants to change that.

The bill would allow people who are just riding on a boat to drink alcohol.

"Citizens of the state of Kentucky are leaving and going to Tennessee and Indiana because they can go out on the waterways of those states without being harassed about relaxing and having an adult beverage on their boat. It's time for this law to change," says Sen. Clark.

If the bill were passed into law, it would still be illegal to consume alcohol while driving a boat.
