Ky. man charged with 1,000 counts of child porn

ASHLAND, Ky. (AP) - Police say an eastern Kentucky man has been arrested in Florida on 1,000 counts of possessing child pornography.

Kentucky State Police in Ashland say 71-year-old James K. Raasch of Flatwoods was arrested Wednesday by officers in Clearwater, Fl.

Police said in a statement that they responded to a complaint that several child pornography images had been found at a home in Flatwoods. The statement says detectives found "several thousand images" at the residence and at storage units rented by Raasch.

Officers obtained a warrant for his arrest, determined he was in Florida, and contacted authorities there, who arrested him.

It was unclear Thursday whether Raasch had an attorney.
