Ky. store owner charged with fraud

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The owner of a central Kentucky store has been charged with health care and wire fraud after prosecutors say he used patient and doctor names to create fraudulent prescriptions.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Louisville said in a news release Friday that 36-year-old Timothy Sizemore of Bardstown billed private insurance companies for the fraudulent prescriptions even though they were not actually filed. During the same time from April 2010 through February 2012, prosecutors say, Sizemore billed Medicare Part D for prescriptions that weren't filled.

Sizemore owns Crume Drug Store in Nelson County.

An initial appearance on the charges has not been scheduled.
