SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (AP) - A bus carrying Kentucky college students has crashed on Signal Mountain in southeastern Tennessee.

WRCB-TV in Chattanooga reported a brake problem caused the charter bus carrying students from Kentucky Wesleyan College to run over a small hill beside the road. The station reported the bus went airborne.

There were 40 people aboard, including the driver.

A Hamilton County 911 dispatcher told the Messenger-Inquirer of Owensboro, Ky., 22 people were taken to hospitals after the accident Sunday night. Police said none had life-threatening injuries.

The newspaper reported the students were members of the Kentucky Wesleyan Singers.
