Ky. woman killed by her own car

CANEYVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police say a central Kentucky woman was killed after a tractor-trailer slammed into her abandoned car and it struck her.

Police told The News-Enterprise that 26-year-old Sara B. Hatton of McHenry was traveling westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway near Caneyville when she lost control of her car Wednesday.

Police say the car came to a stop in the westbound passing lane and it was struck by an oncoming tractor-trailer. The car then slammed into Hatton.

The truck's driver, Bennett W. Smith of Summerville, Ala., told police he saw a woman trying to run away when he struck the car.
