Ky. lawmaker calling it quits after more than 3 decades

He's held his office for more than 30 years, but a Kentucky lawmaker says it's time to retire.

Representative Danny Ford announced Tuesday he'll step down when his term ends in December.

The Republican, from Mount Vernon, serves the 80th District, which includes parts of Rockcastle, Lincoln, and Pulaski Counties.

He's currently the minority whip in the state house.
