LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Real estate sales have picked up since the spring. The Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors, or LBAR, say its members sold 4,700 homes in the second quarter of 2014. The sales totaled $811,938,312.
The month of June was especially active. Home sales increased 10% from June 2013. Townhouse and condo sales increased from 65 in June 2013 to 91 in June 2014.
The number of townhouse and condo sales have increased in the last two years. During the first half of the year, townhouse and condo sales rose 22%.
The number of days a home stays on the market is getting a little longer. Average days on the market for homes rose 6% from 72 to 76 days. Average days on the market for townhouses and condos rose 33% from 99 days to 132 days.
