LaRue County couple found dead underneath car

LARUE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A couple was found dead underneath their car Tuesday night at their LaRue County home.

The LaRue County sheriff tells us the couple was crushed.

The couple's son, Danny Muir, found them when he got to the home on Munforville Road. We're told the car fell on the husband, John Muir, 56, when he was working on it. The sheriff says it then fell on Muir's wife, Chong Muir, 71, when she used a jack to lift the car off of him.

"Both of his parents were pinned and deceased under a vehicle in the yard," said LaRue County Sheriff Merle Edlin. "The vehicle was actually his vehicle that they had been working on. Changed the oil and did some minor repair to it."

We're told their son had recently moved back to the area from Phoenix to take care of his sick father.

The wife was holding her husband's hand when they were found, about eight hours after they died.

The couple's funeral arrangements are still pending.
