GOLDEN POND, Ky. (AP) - The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area has released two prospectuses for farming crops and hay as part of open lands management there.
The cropland prospectus has two options, one north and one south. The hayfields prospectus has six options, three north and three south. Interested parties can bid on one or more options. The new special use permits will last ten years, beginning on Jan. 1, 2015.
Prospectus maps are available at the Administrative Office and Golden Pond Visitor Center. The maps and prospectuses can also be viewed online at www.lbl.org/WorkingTogether.html.
Bid proposal packages will be accepted until May 13.
Land Between the Lakes is a 170,000-acre recreation area on the Kentucky-Tennessee border between the Cumberland and Tennessee rivers.
