LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After a busy weekend, construction along a major Lexington road is set to resume.
Work along Newtown Pike was set to begin Friday. But with a home UK basketball game and the Boy's Sweet 16 in town, state transportation leaders decided to hold off on closing lanes until Monday.
Starting at 8 a.m. Monday, Newtown Pike will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Loudon Avenue and Fourth Street. Officials say the closure is needed for construction work on the new Bluegrass Community and Technical College campus.
Drivers should expect delays in the area.
