Last minute shoppers spread holiday cheer in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Time is running out to find that perfect Christmas gift. Plenty of people are taking advantage of the last few hours before Santa's arrival on Monday to get in some last minute shopping.

The final countdown is on for Christmas shoppers here at Hamburg Pavilion. Last minute shoppers still have lots of opportunities to find that special gift in Lexington. Stores in the Hamburg Pavilion will be open until late Monday afternoon, allowing some people to milk the Christmas shopping clock down to the last second clear the shelves for last minute deals.

Some say they never thought they'd be shopping right up until the end, others have made it a Christmas tradition. Either way, they say it's been a good experience.

"it's good. It's a good thing to see the people out, festive," says Christmas Eve shopper, Colett Taylor. "in light of all the things that have been going on, people still have good spirits. They're out enjoying themselves, so that's good to see."

So all you last-minute shoppers, get to it! Most stores will be open until late Monday afternoon. Fayette Mall will close at 6pm Monday.
