Laurel Co. burglar leaves apology note

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man, police say, who broke into a home left a message behind for the victim.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office arrested Curtis Brewer Thursday night. Deputies say they found him hiding in a home on Cliff's Edge Road.

Deputies say Brewer broke into the home, stole some things and put them in the victim's truck which was parked outside.

"He had stolen a gun inside the residence, loaded the weapon, and he was hooking a trailer up to the pick up truck and was hauling stuff out of the residence to the pick up truck," explained Laurel County Sheriff's Deputy Gilbert Acciardo.

Deputy Acciardo says Brewer also wrote a note saying he was taking the pickup and a four wheeler. He apologized for any trouble.

"I saw the note. It was handwritten it said I'm so sorry for the trouble that I'm causing you,"Deputy Acciardo said.

Brewer has been charged with burglary and theft.
