LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Two people face charges after, police say, they used drugs while caring for a baby.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office arrested Kimberly Cope, 34, and Robert Shelton, 44. Deputies say they came to the couple's home for a welfare check Thursday night. They say both Cope and Shelton were under the influence of drugs. Deputies say an 11-month-old child in the couple's care was sleeping in a crib at the time.
Both Cope and Shelton have been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and marijuana possession.
The child is now with relatives.
