LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Investigators say a fire at a lot used to store tires is suspicious.
The fire broke out on Ky. 472 near London early Wednesday afternoon. As many as 100 tires have burned so far.
You can see the thick, black smoke filling the skies over London. The emergency management director says he was driving by and was among the first to notice the fire. He said he used his car to break open the gate and then he called the fire departments. Five departments responded. Needless to say, it's been a difficult task.

"Right now, they are putting copious amounts of water and foam on them. You can see we made preparations for the run off. We've got booms and pads for the overflow and such," Albert Hale, the Emergency Management Director, told us Wednesday.
Not only is it difficult to put out, but there is both an environmental and health concern. Our crews on the scene were told to move back for their own safety.
The fire is on the property owned by Benge farm Supply.
