They arrived at the Laurel County Sheriff's office at dawn, after many of them were woken up by a loud knock on the door.

"The element of surprise, we'll catch a lot still in bed," said Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

Police say they're accused of dealing in Xanax, Hydrocodone, meth and marijuana.

Police say they think many problems in the community begin with illegal drug use.

"We are seeing the thefts, the burglaries, people buying the drugs..they need $10 or $20 or whatever," said Sheriff Root.

Local, state, and federal authorities have been investigating the people for months.

"Instead of getting up and getting a job, they make a few bucks on selling pills," said Root.

Police say in roundups like this they typically see familiar faces..but on Friday police say most of the suspects are new offenders.
