Woman injured in Anderson County crash dies

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman injured in a crash Thursday afternoon on U.S. 62 has died.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office says 20-year-old Courtney Myers, of Holland, Ohio, died at UK Hospital.

The crash happened just outside of Lawrenceburg. Kentucky State Police say a couple in a Dodge Dart was driving into town and made a left hand turn into the path of a Jeep.

The Jeep hit the passenger side of that car. A neighbor heard the crash and ran out to help, first going to the woman in the Jeep.

"Her foot was pinned in between the seat and the floorboard and so I got it unstuck," said Harold Hall. "Finally managed to get her out of the vehicle."

Hall then went to the couple in the Dodge, where the driver was conscious, but the passenger, later identified as Myers, was seriously injured.

"They were not in a good position at all, it was a pretty bad wreck," Hall said.

The two other people who were injured in the crash were taken to a Frankfort hospital.

The father of the woman in the jeep came out to the scene.

"It shook her up, she was tore up pretty good, nerves and stuff," said Clyde Ritchey.

State police had their accident reconstruction team working the crash.

Witnesses say the driver of the Dodge Dart said they were in town looking at homes to purchase.
