A band of heavy rain continues to sink southward into the region. We will have to keep a close eye on this later this evening into tonight. The rest of the forecast remains unchanged with a major winter storm moving in late Wednesday and Thursday.
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - People living along Bluebird Court in Lawrenceburg give credit to firefighters for keeping their homes safe from an early morning fire that destroyed a house early Thursday morning.
The fire started inside a vacant home on the 200 block of the street around 5 a.m. Lawrenceburg Police checked on residents living in homes neighboring the fire, while firefighters worked to keep the flames contained. While no damage was done to surrounding structures, the home that caught fire was destroyed.
Officials with the Lawrenceburg Fire Department said they suspect the fire started in the attic of the house, but added that the investigation is ongoing. They said they don't suspect foul play.
