Lexington Philharmonic musicians threaten to strike

The Lexington Philharmonic's opening concert of the season could be silenced because the musicians have threatened to strike.

The musicians say they'll strike unless they and philharmonic leaders can agree on contract issues such as job security, loss of employment, and a clause that would restrict musicians from performing with other ensembles.

The musicians say they also took a vote of no confidence in Philharmonic Director Scott Terrell. The concert is scheduled for Friday night at the Singletary Center.
