LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Workers inside a Lexington business helped police track down a suspect.

A man working at one of the stores in the Richmond Woods Centre said around 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, someone came in through the back door, and begged him for a place to hide.

Police tell us two men were involved in an attempted burglary two blocks down, on Simba Way, but only one of those men ran to this shopping center to try and hide.

"Guy came in the back door and said someone's trying to kill me, can you hide me? And I said yeah, go into this back bathroom in there. Get in there and hide. And he did, and he pretty much didn't come out until the cops came and got him," said Christ Cossette, who was working at Richmond Woods Centre.

Cossette was cleaning up excess water from a leak in the back of a business Tuesday morning when a man asked him for help. Police say that man was one of two they were looking for just a few blocks down. Moments earlier, police say the two men tried breaking in to a women's home. They ended up leaving, and neighbors started calling police. Officers tried approaching two men that matched the descriptions they had, and those two men took off.

"Officers were then engaged in a foot pursuit with the two subjects. We were able to locate one of the subjects involved in the attempted burglary who was hiding in a bathroom in a business," said Lt. SAm Murdock, with Lexington Police.

Police did take the one man they caught in for questioning. He could be charged with attempted burglary.

The second person police are searching for is a black man in his early 20s with a slim build wearing a red track suit and black toboggan. He was last seen running toward the Hedgewood area.
