Lexington Police make arrests in rash of car thefts

LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) - Lexington Police have charged several people in connection to various vehicle thefts. Police say detectives from the auto theft unit began identifying the suspects on Monday.

As of March 10 Lexington Police had reports of 15 vehicles stolen in the city. In some cases the vehicles were sitting in the driveway warming up, some were left unattended by pizza delivery drivers, and at least one was inside a garage with the door down.

On Wednesday police announced five people are now facing charges for the crime spree.

Arrested were:
Steve Wilson - 26
(4) counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Automobile, less than $10,000

Brittany Christine Goins - 23
(3) counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Automobile, less than $10,000

Ryan Slone - 19
Receiving Stolen Property, Auto
Theft By Unlawful Taking, Auto

Michael Hanley - 33
Receiving Stolen Property, Auto

Shi Sibley - 31
Receiving Stolen Property, Auto
