Lexington, Ky (WKYT) - Lexington Police are aggressively searching for Antonio Howard. They say the Lexington man, who they are calling dangerous, made serious threats to a female, possibly his ex-girlfriend, who lives in Lexington.

Police say Howard and another inmate, Ira Boles of Florence, escaped custody Wednesday night while working a minimum security job at the Adair County Jail.

Police believe Howard is on his way back to Lexington. They say the threats Howard is reported to have made are being taken very seriously. "I can't get into the nature of the threats, but I can say that the two do know each other. There was a preexisting relationship between them, and there were pretty serious threats that were made, so we'll be looking out for him, as well as providing security to the individual who was the subject of the threat," said Lexington Police spokesperson Sherelle Roberts.

If you have any information on Howard you are asked to call Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020 or 1-877-970-2020.
