Police: Victim too drunk to say who shot her

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A woman is recovering at UK Hospital after being shot in downtown Lexington.

Police received a call of shots fired around 3:30 Tuesday morning and, although they were able to locate the victim, they are still trying to piece together her story.

We’re told that when officers arrived at the scene on Ross Avenue they found a man and woman inside a home. The man told police the woman was shot before she arrived at his house, and that she was refusing to leave. Police say she had been shot in the shoulder.

Police said both the man and woman were extremely intoxicated. The only thing the victim could tell police was that the man she was with did not shoot her. Officers said they did not find a gun.

The woman was taken to UK Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

WKYT will continue to follow this story and have more information as it becomes available.
