Lexington Subway robbed at gunpoint

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Lexington Police are investigating after a robbery at a Subway on Versailles Road.

It happened around 7 p.m. Monday. Police say a man went up to an employee smoking outside and showed a gun.

Police say the robber then followed the employee inside the restaurant and stole money, before running out the back door.

The description of the robber is similar to the one who robbed a Game Stop around 5:30 p.m. Monday on Sir Barton Way. He is described as a white man, around 5'9", who had on an orange baseball cap and a camouflage scarf covering his face.

Police say it's too soon to tell if the robberies are connected.
