Lexington businesses are burglarized, owner says building has been hit before

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Police cruisers filled the lot that sits behind the Advantage Solutions Building along Alexandria Drive. Officers say that sometime during the night, someone smashed in windows and doors along the Maywick View Lane side, trying to get in.

"They have struck this building once before,"explained Lexington Police Sgt.Scott May.

The building owner, who would not speak with WKYT crews, tells police his business and two others were hit. He owns Advantage solutions. Police say the other two businesses involved are the Lexington Leadership Foundation and Central Kentucky Behavioral Health. Police say the burglar made off with several tvs, computer monitors and at least one laptop. The forensics team spent hours documenting the scene and police say the crime hit the building owner hard.

"He's obviously trying to run a business and have other customers come in and set up their businesses in his facility,' May commented. "He's been trying to do a lot of re-modeling to make it a nice building. It's just as frustrating for us."

Police say there's been an increase in crime in the area and they are upping patrols here.
