Lexington couple accused of abusing toddler

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A mother and her boyfriend are in jail, accused of abusing her toddler.

Lexington police have charged Jonathan Friedman, 29, and Krisha Kennedy, 30, each with three counts of criminal abuse. Court documents show the couple was arrested Thursday afternoon.

In their arrest citations, police say Friedman intentionally abused Kennedy's three-year-old child. Police say he hit the girl in the face at least three times in the last week. Kennedy is facing the same charges because police say she allowed the alleged abuse to happen, and because she did not take her child to get medical attention.

Both are scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
