Lexington gas station robbed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Lexington Police are searching for the man who robbed a gas station Thursday night.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. at the Shell on Iron Works Pike near Interstate 75.

Lexington Police say a man walked in and demanded money from the clerk.

They say he did not show a weapon.

After getting some money, police say the robber ran off towards the interstate.

"He was running across the parking lot and ran though that tree there. I told Marty I said, 'Man some dude's running outta there. I don't know what's going on.' He just ran straight across there and ran right through that tree over there," said witness Billy Huff.

Lexington Police say the robber was a black man around 5'8' and 150 pounds. He had a black bandanna over his face, and was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and white gloves.
