Lexington gas station robbed for second time in two weeks

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Police say that the Shell gas station on Versailles Road and Alexandria Road was robbed early Thursday morning for the second time in two weeks.

Authorities say that around 4:30 in the morning, a man pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded cash and cigarettes, then ran off. Police say they weren't able to track him past the back of the store because the K-9 unit lost the train and they didn't know in which direction he had run.

He's described as a black man between 5'10" and 5'11" with a slim build, wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, and a mask. Police say he's estimated to be in his 20s.

The officer WKYT's Sean Evans spoke to says he can't say whether it's the same suspect who robbed the gas station on September 20th. But the clerk who was working when the gas station was robbed said she was working on the 20th, and she believes the robber is the same person.
