Lexington high school goes into lockdown

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington high school is on lockdown as police search for suspects who were spotted in a stolen vehicle.

Most students and teachers at Bryan Station High School had already left for the day when school officials ordered the lockdown.

According to Lexington Police, the suspects jumped out of the car before running off on foot near the school.

A spokesperson for Fayette County School says nearby Bryan Station Middle School, which normally gets out at 3:45pm, went under a hightened alert by holding students in the building until police decided it was okay for them to leave.
